Home for the Holidays from your Travels or Expatriate Assignment? This is a good time to do a  Financial Checkup and get in the habit of doing it annually when you are back in your home country for the Christmas or Summer Holidays.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

  1. Update names, signatures, and beneficiaries on all accounts, and change pin codes and passwords on all devices and across all contact distribution channels (i.e. phone and mobile).
  2. Ensure your Credit and Debit cards are Chip-enabled to decrease chances of fraud and to ensure they will work overseas as most countries have already migrated to EMV technology.
  3. [bctt tweet=”Always use Wi-Fi connection with a password and for an added layer of security, Always use a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Don’t forget to download and test on all devices before leaving your home country as it some countries are now trying to restrict access to VPNs.” username=”@globalmoneymatters”]
